Background

Alliance for Community Health Education is independent organization for adolescent girl, young mother and women. We strive to create impact for girls by delivering our programmes through partnerships, by being innovative, by acting as the voice for and of girl child and women by achieving results at scale. In Uganda we implement programmes in five thematic programmes areas of Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs, Livelihoods, Education, Advocacy and Emergency contexts.  

Uganda has the youngest youth population with 78% of the total population being below the age of 30 years. At the same time, Uganda has one of the highest youth unemployment rate in Sub Saharan Africa (83%). About 70% of the AFCHE’s programmes target adolescent girls and women with the aim of improving their literacy levels, the livelihoods of their households and their health status, especially in relation to family planning, Maternal and neonatal and HIV/AIDS.

Alliance for Community Health Education is a not-for-profit organization which started in the year 2018 and it was fully registered in 2020 at National level to create better development, wellbeing and stable communities through innovative provision of professional skills, Health and gender equality among women and girls, the organization currently operates in  Lwengo district.
